I’m trying to repair/refurbish a McCormick Deering Big 6 mower and have a question regarding the bearings. When I pulled the pinion gear and shaft out there were about 6 – 8 ball bearings that tumbled loose into the drive gear case. Where in the ******* do they go?:mad: I have the literature from L Miller as well as the “Haying with Horses” book chapter on mowers but everything is directed at the #7 and #9. And there’s no picture showing where they go although they do show up on the parts list.
I know this isn’t the ideal mower but it’s what I’ve got. Your help is greatly appreciated:)
