    did i miss a month?

we started sugaring in february, plowing and planting in april, haying in may. peas in june, spelt cut and sold in july.
the sumac is turning. the beans are going by. the neighbor is selling early apples.

at this rate, leaves will turn and fall by labor day and we’ll have snow cover by halloween. very strange. anyone feeling the same way??

    off my timing, mitch

I am having the same feeling here. I was done picking peaches in early July, while the growers in Biological Woodsman’s neck of the woods are finishing up right now.

Not to mention that my garden is acting like it is Late September, although I think the heat and lack of rain might have had something to do with that.

So,I don’t think your crazy….or maybe we both are crazy……:p

usually around the end of september we have to worry about a killing frost and penny and i haul out our bedcloths to cover the tomatos and squash to keep them going a few weeks more to ripen up. here we are a week short of labor day, swimming in tomatos and sweetcorn, ripe pumpkins, carrots and onions and potatos in. very strange. haven’t got over it yet.
