Water-Resistant Lead Ropes

This time of year my lead ropes get wet, then freeze, and then turn into unwieldy frozen pretzels. Anyone know of water-resistant lead ropes? I bought some heaving duty clips and binders from a harness maker and am planning on trying to make some lead ropes from a retired climbing rope. Maybe that will work?!

I think Climbing rope workes great, can use it for lines also.
