ParticipantOk,here’s the skinny. The price is maybe a little high so he can “dicker”, not the way I would do it,but. If you look at the price they are getting for a Brabant yearling ($2500 or better) they are not that far off. They are 75% Brabant and are registered. They do have excellent pedigrees(you would have to call to find out exactly what). One is a proven brood mare(yearling stud is across the road at my son’s farm). They drive pretty good, just don’t like to stand very good while you hitch(need two people). They do pretty good on something light, but don’t know how to PULL. All they need is to be worked a little. JMHO

ParticipantThere is a lever to take the sickle mower out of gear so you don’t loose fingers.That being said,I’ve not had that much problem with plug ups, as long as the knifes and guards are in good shape.You would want someone with experience to drive your team the first couple times they are hooked to a mower.A whole new ballgame.They would settle down after an hour or so,they don’t pull that easy and there’s a lot of weight on the collar.HTH

ParticipantMy son has a 50/50 yearling stud.He will breed to a select few next year,live cover only.He is a strawberry roan.Problem being is distance ,we are in Lowville,N.Y.
