For close to 40 years now I have carried a Stanley(utility) knife on my belt, always.Except while hunting, then I carry a folding hunting knife.

Donn, I agree with everything you said. I think the driver got them in a little to tight a circle and the swing teams both got a little loose, looks kinda like one stepped on the one in front of him.I will say that the driver did a fantastic job in the aftermath.

If you need hunters in the woods let me know. Where are you located,I’m in the far north of NYS. Haven’t been to the Southern Tier in years because the land I use to hunt got sold and I don’t like state land…

Just a little question. Where the 8ft. line hooks into the long line, how far behind the 6ft. line does it attach?

I’m not condoning this but a friend of mine had similar experience and she used a dog shock collar on her. About three good jolts and she had enough. I was surprised, it worked wonders. Also, being in heet is not a good excuse for bad behavior. It’s like working a stud, he has to know that there is a time and place for everything and in harness is not the place for fooling around. I’m far from an expert on three up but it seems to me that if you are only dropping two now, you should have enough room just by dropping more links. If you decide to hook four abreast the evener is the same depth. also remember that all eveners are not created equal.

It’s at fair grounds. Horses, tack, and equipment. I went last year for the first time,it’s kinda a small sale but getting bigger every year. last year there wasn’t a lot of equipment.
I’m going again. It’s put on by the Amish. If you go look for an old guy with a white beard and a Navy Vietnam vet’s hat on,say hi. If it’s cold I’ll probably where an orange tuque.

Must be something with people named Carl.LOL I had almost the same thing happen yesterday. My son and I were skidding out firewood, we ere hooking a chain on a hung-up tree when the girls started to move. I yelled “WHOA” and they kept going,my son calmly said “whoa” and they stopped. His horses and calm voice. I always seem to have a loud voice in an emergency but I’m working on it. In normal work I usually have a calm voice around the horses,it’s only in emergencies that I get excited and have that loud voice.
