I have been looking at the ground drive forecarts also also the ground drive mower can’t afford both. I have a pto mower that needs work that could work behind the cart, but really like the mower. Eli

Is it possable to keep them on sight then you only have to clean them once. I was thinking a three sided building and some 20 foot gates.

The bit I tried is an old rusty straight bit from an old bridle I had hanging around I knew scarlet didn’t like the broken bit when I broke her to ride so I thought I would tryed it and it seams better. Now when she stands she will relax kock her hip and drop her head instead of shaking her head and chewing. Thanks again got go pay for some hay $$$$

Carl I agree I steped back and reviewed my methods. I changed bits because she she never liked the broken bit and always fraught it. I am at my upper limit training this horse but am learning I think we are making progress. I am also changing my relationship with my horse making her more of a partner and less of a pet. Eli

Next time I hitch scarlet I will make sure the britching is snug it probably was not last time. I hade that problem when I first hitched Gypsy but she is an old pro. I hope to have help next time I hitch her this should help to keep her calm. Eli

Bach to work with scarlet. Trying a new bit went from a broken snaffle to s straight bar snaffle. Sure seems to be better dosent throw her head around and stands much better after she stops. She stopped at the end of the drive way and kocked her hip and relaxed. It must be the million dollar bit that I got in a couple boxes of harness parts I got for $20. I guess time will tell. Eli

I farmed 500 acres and milked 200 cows until 4 years ago, now I work off the farm and rent out the land. I grew mostly forage, hay 300 acres, corn for silage 200 acres (in a good year I could combine some of the corn). I sold my cows because I was unwilling to take the next step amd borrow 3/4 of a million dollars. I do not regret my decision but miss farming and would like to farm again. I was thinking of notill wheat and soybeans and spraying when I have to. Because I don’t know any other way, I am open to suggestions. I still have one 100 hp tractor and a skid steer loader. No till farming my farm with my tractor would be fairly easy. I was mostly wondering if anyone does this with draft horses or how much is possable. My wife thinks I’m crazy we get a rent check every month and likes it that way. I plan to at least cut hay with horses this summer but I would love to farm full time again. I made a good living for 20 years farming and after a 4 year break would love to do it again. Eli

Payton like I used to got tired of hearing about horses and the old ways only from my father. We had 20 cows, 80 acres and he worked in town. He would talk about farming with horses all I could see in the shiny new tractors driving by. And that is what I ended up with, four years ago I sold most of my equipment but kept my land and want to slowly start farming it with horses. I wonder if I could have talked him into a team years ago. The sad thing is I will probably never know as much as he took to his grave. Good luck and I am sure your Grandfathers hand guides your team in some way.

I have a 22 year old Morgan mare I don’t work with her but I was pulling a cart with skis on Saturday. She is about 700 lbs and has no quit in her she will trot for 5 miles without stoping turn around and trot home! never said no yet. I would take her in the woods if I had a collar for her. All I have is a 24 inch collar or a buggy harness. I was told a Morgan will always give you everything they have. Great now I want to buy a collar for our Morgan gypsy. Great video thanks for posting. Eli

I went to Red Wing a man had a quarter horse size harness to fit my curly mares. I had been looking for a harness for a wile so when I found one I went and got it. I will look you up next time I’m out that way. I may have to dust off my bike and just take a road trip I used to ride all the time before I got into horses. I’m glad to hear the creamery is doing well, it must be the tank I worked on years ago. I put cold tar epoxy In a waste water treatment tank. When I was their I talked to a guy tig welding stainless I thought it was cool and now I weld stainless all the time. Sorry I can’t resist adding little factoids about my life. My wife says its part of being full of bull stuff. Eli.
P.S. Is that a corgi on your website? We have corgies and boarder collies. I have a corgi on my lap as I type.
