I agree with everyone else, new scoots go for up to $900.00 new. This sled sounds like a pretty good deal.

Jean made 40 or so copies of the survey and I think we received about 35 back. We should have a good amount of feedback from the event survey. When Jean gets them organized we can forward to Tim in an excel format for him to review.

Geoff, I have watched these videos several times in the past and love it. A great early documentary of the life on the river drives and woods.

What a great weekend with new and old friends and teamsters alike. A big thank you to all involved and to those that volunteered to help this weekend. We had participants from Long Island, CT, Ma, NH, Me, VT and NY. We also had students from Green Mountain College, Paul Smith College and Sterling College. It is very refreshing to see so many young people interested in draft animal power and sustainable forestry.

    Jen,

Glad to hear you found a great fit for Reno and the new teamster. Tough decision for sure but I am confident it will work out for everyone involved. You did a great job working with him and I will miss standing behingd the plow 🙂

    Jay,

You are welcome to bring the team down, that is up to you. I am sure there will be wood to move, but Sunday is a short day, wrapping up after noon time lunch.

    Hi All,

We will have a registration table and our Banner and other promotional materials there. This will allow us to send participants in the right direction depending on what they are there for. I have added survey handout in the agenda so we do not miss this opportunity to see haw we did setting up the event this year.

Here is the proposed agenda and the survey for the weekend.

The one I have is 5 ¼ “on the nose ring and 4” on the rear. The pole can be cut to fit whatever we come up with and can be supplied by the winner of the raffle.
I attached the nose ring to the chain with d-rings. The rear was attached with an eye bolt and suspended from the rear cross bunk. I have 5/16” chain for the scoot and a couple of cold links that can be welded.
I do not have a forge or anvil, but if I have to could heat them with a rosebud and bend them around a piece of well casing or something.
I wonder if it would be best to simply supply the hardware then let whoever wins the scoot attach it so it will suite their needs.

I don’t know if this applies to your situation but we have one pasture that is full of rocks and weeds and in serious need of renovation. We have rotated our pigs in this pasture letting them completely turn the soil upside down then re seeded with new pasture mix seed. We dragged the sections with the chain harrow and worked in the pig poop. The new grass took really well.

I called Berry Brook last year and Tim said they did not have any irons.
