She will need a 7 inch at least and most likely an 8.

The land plowed with the ox long before the horse and the driver was on the left.
It just made sense for the driver to walk on the land.

20 minutes of real challenge is better than 20 miles of plain driving.
I have a friend that we used to have obstacle challenges between him and I.
We did them with our teams going backwards.

    How old are they?
Is he just going to try to be the dominate member of the team?
You must be the dominate one.
He might just need more work, more challenge.

after they were 3 years old, the fun and interest is in the training.

Can anyone give an honest reason why it is any worse to eat an ox than a shrimp or even a watermelon.
You are still taking a life.

Try putting their old yoke on them. If they don’t act up in that then you know it is the new yoke.
    The yoke needs some work.
The neck seat needs to be centered between the legs of the bow.
Those corners need to taken off.

I have butchered two working oxen for home beef one was five, he made great beef and I sold half of him .
I butcherd an eleven year old last winter becuse nobody would give what I wanted for him in money.
We got 520 # of great hamburg, about 30# of great cube steak, 29 quarts of great canned beef, about 25# of great beef jerky.
Then we sliced the tender loins into the greatest steak that I have ever eaten.

Put the young ones in front and drive them. Don’t put them in the back and teach them to follow.

Forget the put in and puy out, they sound to much alike. It is stand in and stand over.

The only bribe that mine get is to come and get tied up when they are called. one cup of sweet feed
    Everything else is by command.
I think cattle do need a signal to tell them it is work time or play time.
When I drop a bow on their neck there is no more play. I am lord and master.
You should be strict when the bow or yoke is on them, but you should be affectionate when it is not on them.

Go ahead and feed them what ever horse hay they want.
By spring they will be so fat they will wadle instead of walking.
