ParticipantGreat pictures, Simon. I can smell the pitch and the wet ground.

ParticipantBeautiful, I would love to visit Scotland again sometime. I remember loving the forests there, very different from the redwoods here in California.

ParticipantSimon, the article mentions how you warm your horses up in the morning but how do you cool them down and prepare them for the cold nights?

ParticipantWe always scale down load size towards the end of the day which helps them to cool down some. We then unharness and let them eat some hay for a while, if its very cold we place a blanket over them. We then take them back to the field where they seem to vigourously roll in some muck hole to protect themselves.
