ParticipantWe currently direct market and things are moving along. We are looking at moving towards a CSA format, anyone here doing that: what are so does and don’t, any good start up stratigies, what crops are you growing. Any input would be great. Thank you

ParticipantAs an option, some people in Montana have got together to form a co-op. A for profit company purchases the goods right off the farm and does the marketing and sales.
I think the producer gets 75% if I remember correctly and doesn’t have to leave the farm.
Benefits of this system include that there is enough volume to supply larger consumers such as the school boards and grocers as well.October 23, 2010 at 6:47 pm #62759Lane Linnenkohl
