ParticipantWe were able to snap a couple of pics of Ozzie dicing last week before all the rain. We have not even planted the potatoes yet because it is too wet. I hope things dry out soon.
I am very happy with the dolly wheel up front. It is a little darty on the front end in the furrowed ground but fine once the soil is broken up and flatter.

ParticipantSweet set-up! Hhhmmm…seems that my 2 donkeys should be able to pull that much, and I won’t have to find a walk-behind….

ParticipantThat looks great. That is what I need to do, right now I have a disc with a cut-off tongue, pinned to my forecart. It’s just too long, not maneuverable enough. Did you buy that wheel somewhere or did you have it around?
I’ve been discing too, a little at a time. Lil hasn’t had any work in so long that I’m afraid to work her too hard right now. She is willing, just gets winded easily. I’ve been walking instead of riding the forecart; I need the exercise too. 😮
Heard we might get a little sun tomorrow.

ETA: I just googled “crazy wheel” and got this. Not exactly what I had in mind. Might be good for rolling your seedbeds though.

ParticipantJulie,
I bought the front caster wheel from Grainger Co. and was dissapointed with it. It was $130.00 and it broke the second time out with it. I think it would work ok for flat ground but I used it on some fresh plowed ground that was uneven and it snalpped the wheel hub out.
I had a cast iron wheel kicking around and fabricated that on to the swivel caster frame that I originally purchased. It is a much stronger arangement.
You can see the new cast wheel here

ParticipantPut the back wheel off a bushhog on mine. Works real fine, and nothing inside to break. Highway- where did you get the fly bonnets? My wife knits/crochets and wanted to make some but we couldn’t find a pattern
