How do you cary your chain?

How do you ox people carry your chain when moving from task to task? Sound like a no brain problem but the chain can be a nuisance to deal with when it’s not hooked to a load and you have a distance to walk. I have been kind of wrapping it on the yoke but am wondering if someone has a special technique or trick to handle and carry it?

I just wrap it around the bows of the yoke.

I would wrap one pass around to inner bow on the nigh ox, one pass around the inner bow on the off ox, then I would hang the hook on the end of the chain on the inner bow of the nigh ox.

This is just a pic of a pair of calves I started a few years ago, but it pretty much shows it. I just had to sell these two for beef a couple of months ago, I just never got around to using them. They were a bit bigger than in this pic, 2100 & 2200#. NormandexHolstein

You can just drag it, or wrap it around your yoke pins that your straps wrap around.
