working heifers

We had a couple sets of twin heifers, not bull calves (OUR LUCK!!!!), sowe have yoked them in the spirit of Howard Van Ord!
Here they are in their first head yoke.

Pretty team, what mix are they? I hate it when people call my steers pretty, I want them to look tough. But if yours are heifers its probably okay to call them pretty. :p

that is a nice pair of brochled heifers, there is never any shame in working female cattle, they just remind us now and then that they are not castrated males. How old are they? Thanks for sharing the pic.

mary and perry are 2 years old and running with a kerry bull for fall 2012 calves, they are sired by an abs horned hereford bull and out of a holstein ayershire cow that has had 11 calves in 9 pregnancies 5 bulls and 6 heifers! and bred for 12th time in 2012!
